Meet Mema! This is Mema’s second year at The Nest Academy and she has captured the hearts of everyone here! At her previous school, Mema struggled because she couldn’t speak English very well and didn’t know how to read. She was often bullied because of those things and because of her appearance. Since coming to the Academy, Mema has made many new friends and she is making great progress in learning to read! Her love of learning and constant desire to do better is contagious! Mema hopes that one day she will even be able to be a doctor! In her free time, Mema loves to hang out with her friends and watch movies; her favorite movie is Pete’s Dragon! Mema’s favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 41:10, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” She says it reminds her to never be afraid when she is lonely or sad because God is with her!
