Welcome to the nest academy
Where we educate, empower and enrich Charlotte’s refugee, immigrant, underprivileged and at-risk children to become first generation graduates through a faith based, private school.
A trauma informed, holistic approach to education, addressing the whole child: educationally, emotionally, socially, nutritionally and experientially .
At the Nest
we are Bridging the Opportunity Gap
Investing in tomorrow’s Leaders for a legacy of change
Championing for the birthright of every child to have access to quality education, acceptance and hope
restoring dignity for each child to be known, loved, seen and understood
Instilling Faith, Virtue and Knowledge
“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” -Winston Churchill.
At The Nest Academy, we are actively filling in the educational gaps of our students. Our teachers welcome tutors and classroom aides as they strive to educate students and prepare them to advance to the next grade! We have a number of opportunities for men and women to serve in the classroom during the school day from 8:30-11:45 am and 12:30-2:00 pm. We would love your help to make our efforts go even further! You can help us educate and empower our students and make a big difference in our students educational success.
It has been said that it takes a village to raise a child. At The Nest, we have seen how greatly a loving support system deeply affect student success. Commit to lunch with a student 1 day a month, or often as you would like and make a big difference and help to transform a child’s life. We’ll pair you with a student for as long as you are able to join us. You can bring your lunch, listening ear, a smile and support a student!
We take great pride in the faith, virtue and knowledge our students gain at The Nest. Our students know the we love because we were first loved. Gaining the biblical wisdom, knowledge and truth necessary to build character, encourage service and love and acceptance of all are vital components of shaping our students hearts. Weekly chapel allows time to refocus and recharge so our students are strengthened to step back into their, often times very difficult worlds, with hope.
