Dearest Champion of The Nest,

I hope you are well and have enjoyed your summer! By now, I’m sure you have heard the buzz about the exciting news of our new Nest Campus!

We have been working since graduation to open our hearts and doors at our new Nest in just a few weeks.

I cannot wait for you to see the amazing blessing our new space is, and I am thrilled for all of the memories and experiences its walls will become home to.

This is a very special year for The Nest Academy. We celebrate our 15-year Anniversary and in a new Nest to call home.
I know you, too, will be WOWED to experience volunteering on our new campus for the first time!

Our new address is just a driveway away from the Simmons Y. You’ll find us HERE. There are directional signs to lead you to the new Nest once you arrive and parking signs for spaces reserved for YOU!

I WANT TO MEET WITH YOU…

I’m looking forward to having you on campus with us this year and I know that the students and teachers are too. I am trying to learn more about your volunteer availability and how you feel best utilized in the classroom or in our school day, and I want to explore ways you would like to plug in. We have created additional opportunities for you to volunteer and support The Nest this year to include meal dropoffs (lunch angels), host workshops on Fridays, Chapel Speakers and Musicians, Staff Support Angels, and more. I would love to meet with you on zoom or meet in person to catch up and then pass the baton to Laura Reed, who has rejoined our staff as Director of Academic Programming who will assist in plugging you into the schedule if you are going to volunteer in our classrooms.

LET’S DO THIS…

I am working quickly to finish final tasks on campus to prepare for teachers to join me for teacher workdays beginning on the 19th, but I have opened my calendar to a few days to be able to meet with you. You can find those dates and schedule a Zoom call or to meet with me HERE.

SAVING YOUR SEAT…

A few dates I would like for you to put on your calendar that I hope you can attend.

Albemarle Road Presbyterian Church, our campus host and partner, is hosting The Nest and our community of Champions (YOU) on August 25 for a Blessing Service during their Sunday morning service, followed by a Ribbon Cutting at our New Nest. You dont want to miss this.

I would be honored for you to consider joining us as we officially bless the Nest, celebrate the partnerships that have made this dream a reality, including ARPCGeneration We, and Davco Roofing, and honor those who serve at The Nest. This is a great way to fan our flame for the upcoming school year.

You can RSVP here so Jaden can make sure to count you in.

\We will host Open House on our campus and welcome our new and returning students, and I would love your help. Our staff will be hosting this event to get students acclimated to the new campus, and we will also have a back-to-school barbeque lunch to reconnect with our amazing community. It has been a LONG summer and I am so excited for us all to see the amazing Nest Students again! Open House is Friday, August 30, from 9 am-12 noon. Lunch is at 11 and a chance to experience the Culinary delight of our new Chef Joe Leischner.

Our first official day of school is Tuesday, September 3. We have a short first week. We are off campus on a High School and Staff Retreat to Charleston Friday, September 6, and there is no school, but we will resume our schedule on Monday the 9th.

Our 2024-25 Academic CalendarPlease know that if there are changes to this, we will email you, but we wanted you to have this for reference.

I hope to see you this week or next to connect, and I look forward to seeing you this year! The best is yet to come dear friend.

With love and gratitude, MC
